Our combined families.

JENNIFER AND LES HADDAD

Jen and Les live in Maple Ridge, BC with their two children Adrianna (8) and Eli (6). Les is the manager of the meat department for Cooper's.

They have a beautiful large home in a nice quiet subdivision very close to the school and plenty of children in the neighbourhood for the kids.

In May we had the shock of our lives when Jennifer was diognosed with breast cancer. As a mom this was tough to take, like everyone, you tend to think of the word "cancer" as a very dirty word but we kept a possitive outlook on the whole thing. It wasn't, will she survive, but please give her the strength to get through the next several months of her life. You can check out their family in Jen's blog which is a link with mine. She had 6 rough chemo treatments and then 28 radiation treatments. It's all done now.

Adrianna and Eli are an energetic pair and have been pretty darn good over the past 7 months. Adrianna is in grade 3 and Eli in grade 1.

MIKE AND NIKKI KENYON

Mike and Nikki live in Surrey, BC with their two children Kaya and Keidis. They are also expecting in March. Mike works as a coucellor for troubled teens and families and works on the grounds of the Surrey hospital. Nikki is a tutor for children on correspondance. You can check out their blog which is also linked on mine.

Kaya is a very energetic soul with one volume only! Cute as cute can be. She's 4, alsmost 5 and is in ballet.

Keidis is the cutest little man, he's the strong silent type and just motors around doing his thing and has a smile on his face most of the time. He's 2.

TRICIA CROSS

Tricia is also in the Vancouver area in Langley, BC and is still with First Choice Haircutters.

TAMSEN AND JOHN KEYES

John, Tamsen, Aiden and Abby have moved temporarily to Victoria. John has applied to various Dental Schools, so far has been accepted to two of them. Once they know which one they'll be attending they will be moving in August and will be there for 4 years.

Aiden is 3, a cute, big eyed fellow. Abby is almost 8 months old, a bit stubborn but really sweet.

DAN LEE

Dan is 27 and is appreticing in sheet metal. Single and doing well. He lives in Vancouver.

DOUG LEE

Doug is almost 26 and is also apprenticing in sheet metal. He just finished one of a few courses and graded very well. He's lives in Aldergrove BC, single and doing well.

DEVAN STREIBEL

Devan is almost 26 and is working for a surveying company. He's the guy that holds the pole for the surveyor and goes running to a new spot! He lives in Duncan, single and doing well.

KELSEY LEE

Kelsey is 14, an honor student in grade 9. A joy to have around

Winter Wonderland

Winter pics at Kenyon Acres.

The Farm

On the farm we have about 25 acres that are hayfield. Although we did hay it the first summer here, since then we have leased it out. One summer was to people for their mares and fouls, last summer was to Don's nephew for his cattle. Not sure what we'll do this coming summer.

Some of the property is treed and up the mountain probably about 5 acres. We have two pastures and a large area that covers on down the creek. About an acre for the chickens and then we have a very large yard. Thankfully we have a ride-a-mower so I keep the lawns sheered and also the chickens field. I have quite the following when I mow their field as they follow behind me, guess I kick up a lot of insects that they enjoy.

We have a large two story barn, with it are three paddocks and 4 stalls, 2 of the stalls open up to paddocks. One of the paddocks is our garden. We also have a large penned area for the pigs when we have them. A large shop that is not complete but is where Don parks the bus from Sept. to June and then from June to Sept. we park our rig in it.

Come spring we'll get some weiner pigs again, just 2 or 3 to raise up for meat. We'll keep them til Oct. I have at the moment a pair of turkey's, 34 laying hens and 4 roosters. In March I plan to incubate eggs and raise up my own chickens right from scratch and turkey's too. I'll keep you all posted on those endeavors as it should prove to be interesting.

I find chickens are really quite entertaining, you don't need a TV when you have 2 kids at home, a bunch of chickens and a couple of gobblers!!

We raise up our own meat chickens as well, but I buy the chicks and then raise them up, next spring I'll keep a rooster and a few hens so that I can incubate and raise up my own so that I don't have to purchase any more. We will trully be self-sufficient then.

The first picture is facing the hayfield, the second is when the creek was in highwater this portion of the creek is facing the front yard looking toward the road. The third picture is Kelsey in the creek. The girls have their own swimming pools that last until early August.
