The Huichol

The Huichol (pronounced wi-cho-la that's a short i sound and a long a sound at the end) people live in the Sierra Madre mountain range of Jalisco (Ha-lees-k0) which is a state in Mexico. They have states like our Provinces.
The Huichol are well known for their bead work and way of dress.
The colours and patterns in their bead work are like a totem and tell of the family are represent their family. They do absolutely beautiful work.
The gentleman with the violin looking instrument is a Shaman for his tribe. They are a very interesting people.
